Our major goal is to preserve evidence of those that came before us. Prior to any new work at Yucca Mountain, experts conduct archaeological surveys to assure we do not adversely impact areas containing cultural resources. Archaeologists also periodically monitor known cultural resource sites in the area to ensure their protection and integrity.
