The Yucca Mountain Project’s pollution prevention program is one of the fundamental aspects of minimizing the Project’s impact on the environment.
This program effectively pays for itself by reducing the
life-cycle costs of our operations.
The goals of this program are to:
- Minimize waste
- Reduce the use of non-renewable resources
- Identify and use environmentally safe products
whenever possible
We are committed to minimizing waste, preventing pollution,
and promoting environmental awareness. Every employee
is trained to place a high priority on environmental
issues and to incorporate pollution prevention goals
into project planning and daily work activities.
